After completing my secondary education at Jit Sin High School in 1989, I pursued higher education in Melbourne, Australia. I attended Taylor’s College Melbourne and studied Mechanical Engineering at Monash University from 1991 to 1994.
Upon my return to Bukit Mertajam, my hometown, I worked at Robert Bosch from 1995 to 1996 as a car lamp designer. Later, in 1995, I joined my father’s life insurance agency as a part-time agent and then full-time in 1996. My commitment and dedication to my work earned me three consecutive wins of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) award in 1997, 1998, and 2000.
In 2000, I completed the Chartered Financial Consultant Course and established my own financial planning practice, Wealth Care Advisory Sdn Bhd, in 2001. After four years, I joined Standard Financial Planner Sdn Bhd, a licensed financial planning firm under Professional Investment Services, the largest financial advisory firm from Australia.
My success and achievements led me to be employed as the General Manager, Distribution for Professional Investment Advisory Services in Singapore in 2009. Later, in 2012, I joined Financial Alliance Pte Ltd, the largest independent financial advisory firm in Singapore, as the Director of Business Development. In 2014, I established FA Advisory Sdn Bhd, a licensed company in Malaysia under the Financial Alliance Group.
During the pandemic, I established a digital marketing team for Financial Alliance and launched three essential initiatives: ENGAGE, the financial consultant digital hub, Nudge, the public financial educational portal, and the Elevate & Nudge Webinar Series.
In 2022, I was promoted to Group Business Development Director, where I continued to build my team to support over 400 financial consultants in my company. I helped them create more opportunities through digital marketing, ensuring that the business stays competitive and relevant in the industry.
