If not now, then when?

My parents are both close to 90 years old, and their legs would start to wobble even after a short walk.

Before travelling, there were concerns 😟 from the rest of my family about the unpredictable weather, which is why many preparations were put in place to ensure that they had the right Travel Insurance that even covers pre-existing medical conditions as well.

Despite all the preparations, there were still some lingering concerns. But I went ahead with the trip, and the picture just says it all. Out of all the participants, my dad was the most senior one, and the organizer even presented him with a calligraphy piece that touched his heart so much.

This journey with my parents taught me a lot of things about Retirement Planning:

1️⃣ Often, I will hear prospect sharing to me that they are not ready as there are much on-going uncertainties. While, this may be true, however, we will always have unfinished commitments and concerns even after much preparations.

2️⃣ If we do not start now, what would be a good time? If we held back and decided not to go on the trip due to all the concerns, when would be the next opportunity for my parents to go travel?

Much like travelling, we shouldn’t delay on starting our retirement planning. After all, if not now, then when?
