Beyond the Diagnosis

Understanding Cancer Through Medical and Personal Perspectives

A Colorectal Surgeon's Insights. A Survivor's Journey. One Heartfelt Evening.

Cancer affects nearly every family, yet many of us understand it only in fragments: the medical facts, or the personal toll, but rarely both.

This event, specially curated for clients of Financial Alliance consultants, brings together an informed medical perspective with the real, lived experiences of cancer survivors. It will be an evening that is medical, personal, and completely practical.

Date: 8 October 2026 (Thursday)
Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Light refreshment served from 6:00pm)
Venue: Singlife Headquarters, 5 Straits View, #01-18/19 Marina One The Heart, Singapore 018935

Knowing the Signs Can Save a Life.
Being Prepared Can Save a Family.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers today — but also one of the most preventable, when caught early.

Yet many people delay seeking help, mistakingly ignore early warning signs for less serious conditions. And even fewer of us have thought through what a diagnosis would actually mean — for our health, our family, and our finances. This event helps you gain clarity on both.

What You'll Hear at the Event

Colorectal Cancer: Causes and Prevention

Colorectal cancer is common but fortunately also preventable to a certain extent. In this talk, colorectal surgeon Dr Loong Tse Han explains what causes it, who’s at risk, and the warning signs often mistaken for less serious conditions. He covers why screening matters, how diet and lifestyle can lower risk, and how modern treatments now aim to preserve not just a patient’s life, but their quality of life.

Fireside Chat with an Actual Cancer Survivor

We will be speaking to Sim Peck Cheng, a cancer survivor, who happens to be an Associate Director representing Financial Alliance. She will share about her diagnosis and recovery journey, and what she learned about being prepared for the unexpected. This is a heartfelt sharing not to be missed.
