So, I decided to take on a 150-day challenge from October 26th, 2020, to my 50th birthday on March 25th, 2021. During this challenge, I reflected on my goals and priorities, trying to figure out what I wanted to achieve in the next decade of my life.

It wasn’t easy, and there were moments of frustration and doubt, but I was determined to come out on the other side with a clear sense of purpose and direction. And that’s exactly what happened. I emerged from the challenge with a framework that could help others achieve personal breakthroughs and live a fulfilling life.

This framework, which I named the CAMS Framework, consists of four steps:

CLARITY with a Strong Belief System

The first step of the CAMS framework is Clarity with a Strong Belief System. This step involves setting clear goals and priorities and developing a strong belief system to achieve those goals. By having a clear vision of what you want to achieve and a strong belief in yourself, you can focus your energy and resources towards achieving your goals.

In my personal experience, I found that achieving a great mind and healthy body at age 50 and beyond was crucial for several reasons. Firstly, as I age, my physical and mental abilities decline, which can limit my ability to enjoy life to the fullest. By prioritizing self-care and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, I was able to improve my overall well-being and enjoy a better quality of life. Secondly, having a healthy mind and body helped me to stay independent and active for longer, reducing the risk of age-related illnesses and enabling me to remain engaged in activities that I enjoy. This included anything from travel and socializing to pursuing hobbies and interests. Lastly, a healthy mind and body also had a positive impact on my relationships, both personal and professional. By feeling good about myself, I projected confidence and positivity, which improved my interactions with those around me.

By focusing on what I wanted to achieve, I gained a deeper understanding of myself and my goals and charted a path towards a fulfilling and rewarding future beyond my 50s. ACTION through Daily Habits

The second step of the CAMS framework is Action through Daily Habits. This step involves breaking down big goals into small, manageable steps and taking daily action towards them through consistent habits and routines. By taking daily action towards their goals, individuals can make steady progress and achieve their goals.

In my personal experience, selecting an appropriate exercise routine was a crucial step in achieving my goal of building a healthy body and mind during my 150-day challenge. I designed a daily routine that I could easily do at home every morning, consisting of exercises such as plank, push-ups, burpees, bicycle crunches, ab exercises, variable plank exercises, and meditation. To track my progress, I also created a simple Excel sheet to record my daily exercise activity.

  • 10 reps of burpees

I personally experienced the importance of cultivating a strong mindset during my 150-day challenge. Each morning, I would often struggle with the decision of whether or not to do my 20-minute routine upon waking up. Our minds contain both negative and positive influences, with one side discouraging us from taking action and the other encouraging us to do so.

The 5-minute plank was undoubtedly the most demanding exercise in my routine, testing both my physical and mental endurance. However, developing a strong mindset was essential to push past negative thoughts and achieve my goal. By focusing on the process, celebrating small wins, and embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, I was able to maintain momentum and stay motivated throughout my journey towards a healthier and happier life.

SUSTAINING SUCCESS

The final step involves reviewing progress regularly, celebrating successes, learning from failures, and developing grit by persevering through challenges and setbacks. By reviewing progress regularly, individuals can stay on track and make adjustments as needed. Celebrating successes and learning from failures can help individuals maintain their motivation and continue to make progress towards their goals. My personal experience: On the first day, I was only able to hold a plank for 2 minutes. However, after consistently practicing for 29 days, I was able to achieve my goal of holding a plank for 5 minutes.

By recording my daily exercise routine every morning in the excel sheet, I developed a sense of discomfort seeing an empty row, which in turn motivated me to stick to my routine and perform the exercises each day.
