This post was written on 29 November 2020   I am going to enter into the 3rd phase of my life in 2021. Looking back of my life journey, the 1st phase of my life was the foundation years to develop me as a person. The second phase was the foundation years to develop my family life and my career. It is good to take stock of my life journey so far and prepare myself for the 3rd phase of my life. Phases of life stages: No alt text provided for this image

Phase 1: 0 to 24 years old – these were the years we built our foundation as a person and prepared us to build our life. I am grateful that I had a good education provided by my parents and studied in a good high school (Jit Sin High School, Bukit Mertajam, Penang) and university (Monash University). My involvement in scouting and promotion to the troop leader in secondary school has a significant influence in my foundation year. Phase 2:- 25 to 49 years old were the year we built our career, our family and the quality of life we want. In this period of time I had an opportunity to learn from my father by working in his life insurance agency for few years before setting up my own financial advisory practice to pursuit my dream in building Independent Financial Advisory practice. In 2005, I was approached to join an established licensed financial advisory firm that joint ventured with the largest independent financial advisory group from Australia. Subsequently I was assigned by the board of directors to move to their Singapore operation in 2009. Thanks to the Australia firm, I had an opportunity to move to the global financial center to continue in pursuing my dream that started humbly from my hometown Bukit Mertajam (Penang), to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore! FA Advisory Sdn Bhd is a profitable business now and managed by a dedicated team that lead by our General Manager, Bryan Zeng.
